Puzzle 360 (Yajilin)

The next few posts on here will be reposts of various puzsq puzzles I've written this year.  I didn't want these posts to "dilute" the Spotlight (whatever that means), but now that the Spotlight is over, there's no reason not to cross-post them here.

First up, a Yajilin from way back in January.  At the time, I was messing with Cross+A generation, and wanted to see if it was possible to construct a symmetric Yajilin faster than Cross+A could.  The answer was "yes", although cspuz ended up being really helpful with the ending.  I'm super happy with how this one turned out.

Puzzles 207 and 208 ("Diagonal Streaks", Yajilin)

Last night I constructed two Nikoli-style Yajilin puzzles.  The 17×17 was constructed first, while the 10×10 was added later.  This pair emulates willow's style, who will always post puzzles in pairs (one smaller, one larger).  I don't expect to continue following this pattern, but it is an interesting idea.

Puzzle 130 ("Medium Nikoli" series, Yajilin)

A few days ago, I finally finished Pencil Puzzle 2022!  It's a cool collection of puzzles and is worth a purchase.

Each genre in that book starts with a collection of 10x10 puzzles and then moves on to at least one medium-sized puzzle (exactly one in the case of the two Omopa genres Chained Block and Dotchi Loop). I want to construct a "Nikoli-style" medium sized puzzle in each of the genres listed in the book.  Except Numberlink.  I'm not going to hold myself to a 17x17 puzzle there.

First up is Yajilin.  I'm happy with how this one turned out; it's smooth enough, especially with the restrictive clue symmetry.

Puzzle 101 ("All Twos", Yajilin)

It's been a long time since I've posted a Yajilin on this blog.  This puzzle is very different from my other Yajilins on here, mainly because it lacks clue symmetry!  Instead, I wrote this to emphasize a different kind of visual theme: one where the clues are all 2s.  Unlike my GMPuzzles Yajilin from a few months ago, it's virtually impossible to enforce a symmetry theme with a grid this large; toward the end of the construction process, my options for selecting clues were quite limited.  I'm surprised I managed to get as nice of an ending as I did!
